When Worlds Collide
For this prompt, I was challenged to meet several different content requirements for the overall designs of the characters. Using common fantasy creatures as inspiration I had to make a scene where said two species interact in some way for the first time, with a clear technological difference between the two characters. The technologically advanced creature in particular had extra requirements which included adding form and content language from the Sci-Fi film Tron. For my inspiration, I chose a fairy and a minotaur, with the fairy inspired species being the technologically more advanced while the minotaur inspired species showed a more magical theme. I decided to further emphasize the contrast between the two characters with age and body language. Ultimately, my personal goal was to communicate a tentatively peaceful first meeting between the two species.

Progress Study
Above you can see a few snapshots of how I framed this image. I wanted to make sure I was correctly portraying the depth of field, so I ended up using some 3D models to create a scene. I then used that scene to make silhouettes when creating the final digital painting.
